My (olde) performances - Oh to be le pianoman of yore :)
This really brings me back. I post it, not because I think it's particularly instructive, but just to encourage the newblars out there to give things a shot. I was playing this piece in under two years. Not to say I was playing it well, but there are some great things there, even though it's clearly beyond my range.
Enjoy:

Re: My (olde) performances - Oh to be le pianoman of yore :)
Here's a song I with with one of my old piano students. She had to perform something a Halloween charity auction for UNICEF. So we wrote the words together, she chose the style. This is a demo tape I made for the professional singers who came in to sing the song (and by sing it I mean, maim it, but that's another story. We need to do tryouts next time).

Despite their efforts or lack thereof, this is a great song, I'm still proud of my little student.

Re: My (olde) performances - Oh to be le pianoman of yore :)
Ok, so people asked to see an arrangement.
The chorus is a song my sister and I invented as we were touring France. These are some of the happiest memories of my life, walking around Paris harmonizing that chorus with her. So I wrote lyrics to accompany the chorus, recorded it with my dad in his friend's basement, and I gave it to her for Christmas.
I hope you like it:

Because it's my composition.
I agree, I'd like to play it too - alas I don't own a video camera. I'm going to see if I can borrow my mom's digital thing, it may have audio, we'll see.

Re: My (olde) performances - Oh to be le pianoman of yore :)
Correction to earlier post: I would like a camera to record myself playing something
Thanks so much! Uhh, I would have to make some modifications to play it, unfortunately - I could play it with two pianos and a good friend.
Hmm, I'll have to think who to recruit for that one.

Was it only me that think that Theme2 sounded like a waltz?
So can I use it in my wedding? ( joke ^_^ )

Re: My (olde) performances - Oh to be le pianoman of yore :)
Another old example of "mon jeu" when I had been playing less than 2 years. Ahhh it's been a while... Chopin's waltz in C# minor.

A few performances for you:
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=846a1e5339f432684012e8015643d9c892e051105fe8346a
These are all me improvising on themes. Check out musical 1, musical 2, and musical 4. The rest aren't really as ready for sharing.
Also, for the Dawn one, I can't get the tempo right on that. I'll repost someday when I get that right.
Enjoy! Any feedback would be appreciated.
