Sheet music Sources on the Internet
Hi All,
There are so many great sites.
I thought we should give a word about them to each other. How about collecting them in this thread?
First of all let's see some stuff focusing on little bit on the beginners
Here are some links to easy pieces, it is even possible to listen to them, it helps me a lot in analyzing the piece.
Music-scores
http://www.music-scores.com/skill/composer2.php?skill=1&name=Piano
This site arranged the pieces by levels (1-9 where 9 is a concert player ) The first level even have the letters of the notes on the top of the staff so it really helps
Free scores
http://www.free-scores.com/free-sheet-music.php?CATEGORIE=70
This site has a great collection of music for many instruments , the link I attached is for piano. They give a description to each file about the level, and offer midis too.
Easybyte.org
http://www.easybyte.org/
Collection of easy pieces you can save the sheets as a picture or print and it has a midi too. If you can play all those on the site you are definitely ready for the next level.
Easy piano Sibelius Music
http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/cgi-bin/search.pl?special=easypiano
I chose the EasyPiano part of the search but I still found a little bit more difficult pieces. Scorch plugin program needed for the site but it worths it because it plays the sheet. This site only allows printing the scores.
The reason why this sight is so huge because anyone can post their own compositions. I found composers who were only 16 but they had a nice repertoire. It is a site you can forget yourself in...
Icking Music Archive
http://icking-music-archive.org/ByComposer.php
Endless amount of sheet music with midis for piano and other instruments... for advanced players.
Contemporary Music
http://my-piano.blogspot.com/
If you desire to play some of the recent hits here you can find some good ones.
Gmajormusictheory
http://www.gmajormusictheory.org/Freebies/freebies.html
Someone already mentioned this on a different forumtopic I checked it out and it is great.
8notes.com
http://www.8notes.com/Piano/
This site was also mentioned before. Many of the good pieces require either free subscription or premier membership for 20$
Now that I ran out of my known sites it is your turn to tell us where else can you find sheet music...

Aww Thank you so much! I'm sure she won't be jealous ^_^ she's pretty laid back. Nope I wasn't upset with you, if I don't respond sometimes there's a 99% chance it's because my arms are hurting! So don't take it the wrong way if I don't respond ^_^ I'm also going on vacation in two days for the rest of march (I haven't gone on vacation in over 2 years now!!! ) So you guys probably won't see much of me at all if any until april. So don't freak out if you don't see me on ^_^ I'll be back Jordan is going to take care of the forums for me while I'm gone ^_^ He's doing an awesome job as it is!
So I'll see you again soon! I'm really happy to hear you're enjoying the forums here! It's wonderful news to me
Re: Sheet music Sources on the Internet
Enjoy your vacation I am happy for you. Rest a lot.
You will be recharged. That helps the soul and the body.
I know Jordan surely does an awesome job too And we are all here to help each other too.
That is one thing I really appreciate everyone shares their knowledge to help.
We will surely miss you
Now I better go and pack... as I am going on a trip too... only 3 days but I will be the driver... I have never driven 5 hours so it will be a good experience.

Yeah, she's very kind for using her time to contribute, and I really think that she's doing a great job for us. Also, considering the fact that she's a mother and she's very busy with other stuff, I definitely have respect for her and I'm glad that she's here helping out! Keep it up Maggie!

Well thats one of my problems that I theoritically dont... but practically do it anyway... so now I start to scream because Im behind with the HIST1700 which is a general mixture of the whole USA history ... which I have no clue about being not American... oh well... so I need to balance my piano love and my duties...phobik2000 wrote:Jeebus! I agree. It must be hard being a parent. I guess I'll have to find out for myself in a couple of years, because at the moment, I don't think I'm ready to have kids. LOL!

I would be probably so impressed I could not even touch a masterpiece like that.
But I would love to see you playing it
It is great to have you back and Im glad you had a great time, you deserved it!!!
Re: Sheet music Sources on the Internet
Maggie, do you download your sheet music off torrents, IRC, or forums? Because I'm still wondering on how you obtained such a massive collection of 10 GB, thats amazing!
Re: Sheet music Sources on the Internet
yea no kidding 10 gb of ANYTHING is hard to get, let alone sheet music, if you consider the average score is maybe 700kb, that means, she's got over 10,000 scores.....that's sickening!

Haha yeah. I have over 20 GB of music, but music takes up a lot of space especially if you have mp3's with good quality, like 320Kbps or a .wav which takes up almost 100 MB. To have 10 GB of sheet music is pretty insane, since most sheets aren't even 1 MB.
Re: Sheet music Sources on the Internet
I can almost say all of the above What ever I find and can get I download itJordan wrote:Maggie, do you download your sheet music off torrents, IRC, or forums? Because I'm still wondering on how you obtained such a massive collection of 10 GB, thats amazing!
It is a matter of 1 month hard working search and luck.
I have full collection too so I cant exactly tell what songs I have but Im still collecting because I can still find new versions of things.
I range from Classical to Contemporary anything, I have tons of jazz although Im not even close to be on that level and I dont think I will like to play improvisations.
I found many things on sharing sites too. Many of them are from people similarly collecting tons like me.
One of my favorite ones are http://www.free-scores.com/ and http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/ plus a site where anyone can upload their own composition... I tried to find it now but oooh noooo I think I lost it.... anyway...
Oh and did I mention I am an audiobook fan too? My poor husband

Terabytes? No way, you have TB of music? I mean, unless you have a Terabyte hard drive, I don't know about having a TB of music, hahaha. But if you really do have "Terabytes" of music, that is absolutely INSANE!
