Graded Pieces Sorted by Difficulty

Hey guys!

I've read a lot of postings and frequently asked questions on the forum regarding what grade certain pieces are, how difficult a particular piece is, and the list goes on. I decided to post a sticky of a PDF e-book chart by pianoworld.com showing the difficulty and grade of various pieces from a variety of composers. This will hopefully help the people who start new pieces and are curious to know what the grades are.

I have to say that I prefer Jytte's site. Having the links to download the pieces adds significantly to its usefulness.

Unfortunately the pieces are not graded, but a good site to download piano music (and others as well) is at the Mutopia Project web site.The piano pieces are at

These files are available as .ly (lilypond - a free program for music transcription.) and .pdf (A4 format, but if you run the .ly file through lilypond, you can generate a US Letter format page, as well as a midi file.)

You might consider generating some downloadable sheet music with lilypond that corelates with the lessons that you're generating. A lot of the sites that have "free" downloads require several hoops be jumped through to download, and getting it from your site would be nice. You just need to be sure that the pieces are no longer under copyright.
