UPDATE: It has now been translated by willis77, thank you.

Hi All,

I have a brief introduction on my piano-webpage, and I have it translated in a few languages (Kelly was kind enough to make one for me in Portuguese.

Would anyone like to volunteer to translate into French? The very very little i know of French is not enough for this kind of job.

If anyone would like to translate, I'll send the text in a PM if you want.

Here's hoping, and thanks.

There's a really nice online translator my english teacher once told us about. I don't really like translators for several reasons, but if you know a little french then this might help you some. This one's really nice because it works parallel to google, so its translation is searched on all google's database (which is huge) and it shows up for you how it's commonly said, so it's quite reliable.

Check it out.

Hey Kelly,

thanks, I haven't seen that one before. I'll give it a spin and see if I can make something of it.

Did a testrun of the tekst, asking it to translate into Danish.
Some of it was very good, other sentences unfortunately turn out pretty comically FRENCH anyone?? Gigle.

That's the problem with these translators, because a lot of words can mean different things at different times.
For instance, the Danish word for "married" is "gift", but that same word also means "poison" (rather funny when you think about it), so one has to be rather careful. It works well if you are translating simple things though, and maybe know enough of the language to back-check certain words with a "real" dictionary.

Tell me about it! Some of my friends try translating slangs on these translators, seriously, they have to be completely out of their minds expecting it do be translated with the same meaning; on the other hand having a goofball like me as a friend might not have done them well, maybe I'm not such a good influence after all.

Then there is http://translate.reference.com/translate.

Like you both point out you have to take them with a grain of salt because internet translations can turn out to be quite comical. They're only tools to make your work easier, not to rely on as your only reference.

Hey Ted.

Yeah, I use that one once in a while. I actually use the dictionary more often. I really like that website. Smile

Hello Matthieu, I might have guessed by the name (if not by the location) that you were at least of French decent.
Anyway, I just got the translation from willis77, and was just going to update this post that it's been solved.
Thank you all the same.
