My first lesson with a real live piano teacher
I had my first lesson with a teacher tonight, I was really nervous and excited. Work was quiet so I took half a day off and practiced fur elise and scales etc to get prepared.
The teacher was nice, but when it came time to play I got nervous and made lots of mistakes...aahhhh!!. Still I guess that is why i need a teacher, she showed me some things I was doing wrong that I didn't even notice, so it's all good.
Turns out my biggest problem is I play too fast, I have to slow down....it is so hard to do , my natrual instinict is to play faster, what amazed me was when she had me playing what I thought was really slowly she pointed out that I was actually playing at the correct speed for the piece!!
I have to say the lessons Andrew does really helped, it was great going in with a little knowlege, it was not so scary, and I knew what questions I wanted to ask so thanks Andrew!

I am sure that will help alot.
I want to hire a teacher someday to I guess, or maybe go school.

Re: My first lesson with a real live piano teacher
You're welcome! I'm really happy you went out and got a teacher! My lessons can only show you the door and give you a general base of knowledge
then if you find music is your thing you've got to go on and get a teacher!
I'm so happy you've found one!
