Hi Andrew,

I have been learning Fur Elise using the sheet music from the link after your lesson on how to play it, but I am a bit confused aa there are two parts so far which the sheet music is different from any youtube performances of the song, I don't know which is correct.

The first is in bar 36, the sheet music says play (bass cleff) C major, then F A together then F A together again (or maybe it's a hold as it has one of those sweeping bar thinges over it) then G#B.

It just so happens on my keyboard it has a lesson for Fur Elise so I checked that and it like the performances on youtube plays it C major, then F A together, then G B together then G#B. I am not sure which is correct, I think the second verson sounds the best though.

The second part where it seems to be different is in bars 83 - 84 (treble cleff) this is the quick chromatic scale part, in my sheet music it has two parts to it the first runs from Bb down to D, then it goes imediately back up to the C# above the inital Bb and runs down to F natural.

However in all the youtube performances they seem to do one run down through both bars, again I don't know which is correct. As I am trying to learn to site read my first instinct is to follow the sheet music, but it conflicts with the version I have in my head!

PLEASE HELP!!! scratch

Well, just like performer can make a mistake, the editors can as well.
There are sometimes errors in sheet music although it isn't as common, it's about as common as a typo.

If I were there in real life it wouldn't be hard to fix these problems at all, but since it's over a forum it's pretty difficult my advice is, you could go to a local music store and check out the copies they have there, and if you find one that looks reputable buy that copy and learn from that publisher Smile i'm really sorry i can't be of more help.
