Hello everyone! My name's Elliot, I loved the youtube tutorials and wanted to join the community. I've played piano for around 3 months, I mainly (try to) play Chopin since I've always adored his music. I study Japanese and will be studying it at University next year, I also do a lot of painting, sculpting etc. I hope I have a great time getting to know you guys and continuing to learn, if you want to talk to me please feel free to send me a message!

Elliot.

Thanks for replying jytte! Very Happy

They're tough but for some reason I seem to enjoy the struggle as much as anything. XD

What's your favourite music to play jytte?

I know what you mean, I spent a loooooong time learning Bach's "Jesu, bleibet meine freude", and I started on it while I was still learning to play "first pieces". Silly maybe, to go for a hard piece at that time, but I just loved it, and it was fun.

I have so many "favorites", hard to name any really, just depends on the mood I'm in. I tend to like Christmas music a lot, even "out of season", there a so many pretty tunes, and they're usually real easy to learn and play. Most of my favs are on my website, in different skill-levels (so that I can play them ha ha).

I like Chopin a lot too, especially his polonaise, but I can't play any of it (yet). Makes great listening though.

That's strange man, that's EXACTLY what I did! I played Jesu as my first song, just to dive right in to it! It helped going for something hard straight away though, don't you think? It was damn fun too, major sense of accomplishment. Very Happy

It's beautiful, such a rich blend of tones. I'm sure you'll get there eventually! ^_^

I'm playing his Nocturne 19 (Op.72 No.1) right now, I've been grinding through it for a couple of weeks but I'm only halfway through the second sheet, patience is a virtue, his pieces are insanely long. XD
