Hello everybody!
I'm a keyboard player. But I want to figure out how to play on a split keyboard with bass guitar in the left hand and melody in the right hand. Any tips on how to create bass lines?

There are lots of techniques, but it will generally depend on the content of the piece.

The 7 most important things a bass player can do are
Listen
Study
Listen
Practice
Listen
Experiment
Listen

I have no idea how advanced a player you are,but I hope that has been helpful! Its as true for the expert as it is for the beginner !

When I try to listen to bass, it's so low I can barely pick out the notes. I don't have the greatest ear but I do have basic relative pitch. But if the note is so low, it is hard to figure out the bass line.

Anon, that depends on your keyboard, some support splitting, others dont. If you've connected it into your computer I guess the software you'll use can splitt what keys is playing what ^_^

When we're at it, for those who cant afford a real bass guitar you can make one very cheaply.

Razz How neat! Still, doesn't seem easy to play the balloon bass either.

VictorCS, I have a keyboard that supports split. However, I don't really know how to play bass lines.
