so im watching #16 and noticed that you call some things "Perfect" and others "Major". like Major 2nd, and then Perfect 5th.. do the two words mean the same thing? or not..

Ill try a quick one Smile

Ex: C Major Scale

C = Tonic / Perfect Unison
D = Supertonic / Marjor 2nd
E = Mediant / Major 3rd
F = Subdominant / Perfect 4th
G = Dominant / Perfect 5th
A = Submediant / Major 6th
B = Leading tone / Majort 7th
C = Tonic (Octave/or Perfect Octave if you will)

From Wiki:
Perfect
unison · fourth · fifth · octave

Major
second · third · sixth · seventh

I think its correct Razz hehe Smile ... but I have been mistaken about majors and minor-terminology before, but I think its correct Smile

Hey Thomas, actually Smile your "major 4th and major 5th" should be called "perfect4th and perfect 5th" because there is no major or minor version of them.

so it's

C = Tonic / Perfect unison (1st)
D = Supertonic / Major 2nd
E = Mediant / Major 3rd
F = Subdominant / Perfect 4th
G = Dominant / Perfect 5th
A = Submediant / Major 6th
B = Leading tone / Majort 7th
C= Tonic / Perfect Octave or (P8)
